8th Grade Language Arts Week of 1/30/2012

We will be researching and analyzing a few pieces of fiction and non-fiction to prepare us for our next SAT timed writing and our Socratic Seminar this week.  We will also be able to start our research on our decisions.  We will have three skinnies to research and work on our final products.  You will have choices within this project :)

 

7th Grade ACLA Week of 1/30/2012

We will reseach and analyze this issues regarding technology in our homes and schools to get us ready for our next SAT timed writing and Socratic Seminar.  Remember, we are analyzing multiple pieces of fiction and non-fiction throughout the unit!

8th Grade LA Week of 1/23/2012

Good job on the Writing Assessment last week! I know you all did a spectacular job!  This week we will dive into some reading activities and end the week with a socratic seminar.  Remember, we will start a pretty big project at the end of next week, so be ready to research!!!

7th Grade ACLA Week of 1/23/2012

All classes will deliver commencement speeches this week.  We will try to have 4-5 each day until everyone has presented.  We will also analyze and respond to literature through a Socratic Seminar this week.  Be on the look out for new SAT Vocabulary Words this week as well!!!

8th Grade LA Week of 1/10/12

Welcome Back!  I hope you all enjoyed your break!  We have a ton to do within the next week.  Your 8th Grade Georgia Writing Assessment is on the 18th...next Wednesday!  We will work on pre-writing, revising, examining models, and learning about why this assessment is so important this week!

7th Grade ACLA Week of 1/10/12

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed your break!  We will continue to work on our Multi-Genre Research Projects this week and next week in the lab.  Your Response Piece (love letters or e-mails) and Final Assessment (Commencement Speech) will be due on 1/23/12.  Everyone will begin to present their commencement speeches on the 23rd!  Remember, you can dress up as your person of interest for extra credit :)
