We will hold writing conferences this week. Students will also begin to read an example from their writing portfolio as a revision technique. Each student must practice public speaking this Friday :) We will continue to work on our Persuasive and Expository Writing in order to get ready for the Georgia 8th Grade Writing Assessment which is right around the corner!

All Classes Week of 11/14/11
8th Grade: We will work on Persuasive Writing in preparation for your Mock Writing Assessment this Friday! Parents, please make sure your students get here on time Friday! This practice writing is very important for our preparation for the 8th Grade Writing Assessment in January! We will also have a SAT Vocabulary Quiz on Tuesday!
7th Grade: We will review our brushstrokes, take a SAT Vocab quiz, and work on our Film Critiques which are due on Friday the 18th!
8th Grade LA Week of 11/7/11
We only have a few weeks now until Thanksgiving Break! We will continue to work on our Expository Writing this week. We will also look at a few examples from the Georgia Writing Assessment...we will get to see the good, bad, and ugly :)
We will also have an opportunity to begin to look at the difference between Expository and Persuasive Writing!
7th Grade ACLA Week of 11/7/11

Finally, I am still accepting all Journals and Organizers from the novel study. I will NOT accept any further work after this week! Please make sure you get everything in ASAP! Parents: each student received a missing assignment report last week from me!
Just as a preview to what is to come after the break...begin to think about the word perseverance. We will begin an exciting research opportunity that will be guided by that word :)
