All Language Arts Classes Week of 2/28/2011

 
All classes will be working on Pronouns this week.  Remember, you are expected to understand and show control of specific types of pronouns this year.  You must go beyond simply identifying a pronoun!  We will have four days of notes and a review on Friday.  You will have a pronoun packet DUE on Friday the 4th.  This will count as a quiz grade!

Tutoring Sessions Begin NEXT Week!

7th Grade Tutoring-Every Wednesday beginning March 9th until Spring Break

8th Grade Tutoring-Every Thursday beginning March 10th until Spring Break

 We will be working on our Nothing but the Truth Layered Projects Part II this week!  These are DUE on or before Friday!  Also, we will be working on Analogies!  Understanding analogies is essential for higher order thinking; it is expected for you to have this ability before you enter high school.

7th Grade 1st Period LA

This post is for 1st Period ONLY!  We will take our Reading and Language Arts Post-Tests on Monday/Tuesday.  This will help us know what our strengths and weaknesses are before the CRCT in April.  We will also compose our Expository Writing this week.  You are going to have the chance to be newspaper reporters :)

 

7th Grade AC Language Arts

8th Grade Language Arts Week of 1/31/11

We are continuing our study of the novel, Nothing but the Truth.  So far, you all are doing a great job with the reading and responses :)  Keep working on your mid-way Layered Projects this week!  They will be due on Wednesday the 9th!

7th Grade Language Arts Week of 1/31/11

This week we will begin our next unit on Expository reading and writing.  We will take some notes on the techniques used in the genre and look at a few examples of exceptional expository articles!  This unit will take us through the next three weeks until our Winter Break!
