8th Grade Language Arts

We are wrapping up our reading of Flowers for Algernon.  The students have been reflecting on this story and responding to this piece of great literature!  We will have a test over the story on Wednesday the 19th!

I have graded all of the Expository and Persuasive Essays; please check I-Parent to review your child's grades.  Speaking of grades, I have a few more to input before I submit final grades!

7th Grade Language Arts

We have completed our Persuasive Letters to our Administrators! Grades have been updated for this essay.  I will distribute these letters before we leave for Winter Break.

Be on the lookout for pictures from our Puppet Skits!  Mr. Dreher gave a lesson to students on how to give an engaging puppet show.  The students who did not have a chance to perform their skits will have an opportunity on Tuesday the 18th.  It was a great deal of fun, and the students got a chance to develop characters through dialogue!

7th Grade Social Studies

Look out!  Our Unit VI test is on Wednesday!!!  Notebooks are also due on Wednesday; please make sure that every item is COMPLETE! 

These two assessments will be the final assessments of the semester, so make it count!

Help Sessions

I have seen a very low attendence record in my help sessions.  With the 8th Grade Writing Assessment just around the corner, I want to urge each one of you to come to these sessions!

Our set days/time for Help Sessions are Tuesday and Thursday beginning at 8:15 AM.  If you need to set up another time, let me know ASAP.  I am always at school early, and I stay late!  I can make an appointment with anyone to come in for some help!

Remember, everyone needs help!  If I had to take Physics again, I would ask (i.e. beg) for help!!!

8th Grade Language Arts

DGP Quiz on Wednesday the 5th!!!!!

Final Drafts of your Persuasive Essay are due on Monday the 3rd...NO LATE PAPERS :)

Get ready to begin our new unit on Expository Reading and Writing!!!   We will spend time exploring this genre through an introduction through reading this week.  This type of writing is important for our everyday lives!  Be ready to work hard for our last few weeks before Winter Break! 

Homework for the week:

Pages 7 and 8  in the workbook due on Wednesday
Pages 9 and 10 in the workbook due on Thursday

7th Grade Language Arts

Get ready to persuade our Administrators!!!  We will take our persuasive letters through the entire writing process.  Remember these are your ideas for a better Daniell!  Take pride in your ideas!

We will also begin to film our Public Service Announcements next week as long as we are on our best behavior!

Get ready to dive into Africa!  We will hit the ground running this week into our new region of study!  Students really need to stay on top of all of the assignments...many grades are slipping because of carelessness!  I will post attachments of our work later this week in case of any absences.
