Welcome Back! I hope you all enjoyed your break! We have a ton to do within the next week. Your 8th Grade Georgia Writing Assessment is on the 18th...next Wednesday! We will work on pre-writing, revising, examining models, and learning about why this assessment is so important this week!
7th Grade ACLA Week of 1/10/12
Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed your break! We will continue to work on our Multi-Genre Research Projects this week and next week in the lab. Your Response Piece (love letters or e-mails) and Final Assessment (Commencement Speech) will be due on 1/23/12. Everyone will begin to present their commencement speeches on the 23rd! Remember, you can dress up as your person of interest for extra credit :)

7th Grade ACLA Week of 12/19/2011
We will continue our analysis of A Christmas Carol this week. We are really going to focus on the structure and form of the drama. As always with this unit, be on the look out for our theme of perseverance! You may bring a snack on Thursday as we complete our Film Critique and Analysis!

Well, we have one week left until Winter Break! You have made it half way through your 8th grade year!!! This week we will continue our study of drama and Flowers for Algernon. Your final assessment will be a persuasive essay regarding the issues we discovered through our reading of the short story and screen play. Have a wonderful week and get some rest over break!

We have nine days left until break!!! Here is what we have in store for the week:
Monday and Tuesday
In the lab for our Multi-Genre Research Projects; your research, notes, Creative Assignment, and Eulogy or song lyrics with Explanation is due by the end of the week! We will only be in the lab these two days!
Thursday
Perseverance Readings-You will read three non-fiction examples of perseverance and reflect/respond.
Friday
Introduction to Charles Dickens and A Christmas Carol
Next week we will continue our analysis of Dickens with examples of his other works.
