Test update:

The unit one test was today, October 25.  Grades will be given back on Friday of this week.  The next test prep will be posted next week for the Ch. 9 test on Energy.

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING AND DOING THIS WEEK?

•  Describing how the periodic table is arranged and using online resources to research elemental properties.
• Describing differences and examples between chemical properties, physical properties, chemical changes, and physical changes.
• Calculating mass, volume, and density for a variety of objects using the correct SI units.

What are we learning?

Ch. 2 What is Matter?

·         Measurement of matter:  Density, Mass, and Volume

·        Differences between physical properties and chemical properties, as well as physical changes and chemical changes.

Lab:

Balloon Lab – What are the physical and chemical changes when adding baking soda to a balloon and releasing the baking soda into a bottle of vinegar?

****  There will not be a separate Ch. 2 test.  This information will be included on the unit test which will be given the week after conference week.

What is coming up?
