Ch. 6 Forces and Motion

The students received their test prep on Tuesday of this week. (Dec. 13)

This is the last grade for this 9 weeks. 

 

CONGRATULATIONS:  Ms. Stillson’s homeroom/3^rd period won a cupcake party for having the most students attend the Barnes and Noble book fair on Dec. 13.  They gave up their time to help with the fair, serve refreshments, and read to the small children.  I am very proud of them for their kindness and service to the community.

Science Fair and Chapter 5 Test.

The Science Fair projects are due Jan 10.  Project ideas were due Nov. 30.  If you still want to do a project, turn in your idea asap.

Week of August 29^th                                                                  

The chapter 2 test on Matter is Friday, September 2.  Attached is the test prep that was given on Wed. and Thurs. of this week.  Students should create a study guide using the test prep.  They should use the following from their notebook to study:  notes, vocabulary terms, enrichment handouts, and metric homework problems.

All students should have their binders with 5 dividers.  All papers should be in their appropriate section.

Parents:  Please check your child’s agenda daily for assignments and notes from teachers.

Week of August 22, 2011

Scientific Method and Lab Safety QUIZ is Wednesday (3^rd, 5^th, and 7^th) and Thursday (4^th and 6^th)

•  Study the Scientific Method notes.  Be able to list the 6 steps and match the details or descriptions to the correct step.
• Study the Lab Safety Contract rules.  This portion will be True/False.

The online textbook is available in addition to the books that will be issued this week.   The website and password is attached to each students’ agenda on the front cover.

Please be sure all students have their supplies this week.  This includes a 1-inch binder with 5 tabs.  The 5 tabs should be labeled as follows:  Notes, Vocabulary, Chapter reviews/test preps, Labs, and Enrichment.

We are starting Chapter 2 on Matter this week.  The students will receive notes and define vocabulary terms.  They should be reviewing these daily along with any other enrichment handouts and labs.

Water Bottle Rocket Lab

Computer Lab research for water bottle rockets the week of April 25. 

Each student needs to bring in 1 or 2 two-liter bottles and 1 one-liter bottle by April 27th.
