Reciprical Teaching, students will work in 3 groups to teach the 3 branches of state government next Mon/Tues.

Study guide/Review Wed, Feb 4- Test is Feb 5 & 6th

On-Level Classes-

All classes will read Chapter 15, taking guided notes to prepare for study guide next Wed. We will review & students will be allowed to make a "note card" to use on the test next Thurs/Fri.

Check notebooks for State/Us comparison notes(#14) ,Guided notes(#15) and that all else is complete.

Week of December 1st through the holidays

All election projects have been graded and are on I-Parent.

Congratulations to all ,you did a great job!

This week all classes will be finishing the American Revolution. AC classes will have a 7 question quiz for homework and will be working in the computer lab analyzing primary documents. Thurs/Fri will be looking at the Declaration of Independence with our test next Wednesday.

We will finish December by studying the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution. Our December benchmark test will be given the last week before holidays.

 

3rd & 6th periods:

Monday & Tues. students will have an open note quiz and review the causes of the American Revolution. Notes on the battles will be given and we will spend Thurs & Friday on the Declaration of Independence. Test next Wed  over all material in Ch 5, Section 3.

Homework for week of Dec 1st: Questions pg 166, questions 1,3,4,6,7,8,9 in Remembering the Facts.

Dec 8-12: Test Wed, Articles of Confederation

Dec 15-19: Constitution and the Dec. Benchmark test.

 

 

 

Elections & the American Revolution

For the Weeks of Nov 3 and Nov 10:

Election Projects are due Monday the 10th for 3rd,5th & 7th periods.

Projects are due Tuesday the 11th for 4th & 6th.

Wednesday we will share our projects in class and have some peer feedback.

All students should be reading Ch 5, sect 3& 4 to prepare for our American Revolutionary Unit.
Monday we will start our unit with discussion, visuals and cloze notes .

 

AC classes will be working on an in-class project researching Revolutionary War heroes. Students must read the text at home for background information.

 

Look for our new standard in your student's notebook. This will tell you what we need to be able to do and know at the end of the unit!

 

Colonial Georgia

This week we will begin our study of Colonial Georgia.

AC students will read primary source documents to write an essay about immigration to colonial America.

All students should finish maps of 13 colonies and a graph comparing the regions.

Everyone should be working on their election projects. We spent last week in the computer labs to get information.

ELECTION PROJECTS:
All students have received their election projects. AC students have a packet with all directions. 3rd & 6th have also received directions for their project. We will be spending time in the computer lab next week so students will be able to work on this.

AC CLasses:

Your project reguires you to collect two articles a week, starting this week so look in the newspaper or on the internet. 4articles with summaries are due next Th & FRi.

Ms. Shaw's Georgia Studies

Week of Sept. 8-12

AC classes- we began our study of European explorers. Students need to finish Cornell notes on Ch 4, Section 1. We also worked in pairs to read & analyze an article on the Columbian Exchange. Students will be evaluating the impact of the explorers on Native Americans.

All other classes will work together on Cornell notetaking skills. We will then write notes on Ch 4. Students will complete a chart in class on the explorers.
