Semana: 16-20 de marzo

We are finishing up Capitulo 6 this week.  We are working on the following 3 activities: 

1.  Workbook pages thru 52 (Skip act. #9)

2.  Family Tree Project - takes the place of a chapter test.  This is due el lunes o el martes, 23 0 24 de marzo.

3.  Reading Don Quixote.  We will finish this next week in class.

***Special note to parents:  We are completing HS registration this week.  If your student is going to continue to study Spanish at the HS level, he/she will be signed up for Spanish 2 AND 3 in their freshman year.  This is the recommended course of study for your college-bound students.

 

Semana: 23-27 de febrero

This week we are beginning Chapter 6 (La familia).  Students should be prepared for a quiz on Primer Paso on Thursday/Friday.  This would be a perfect opportunity to make flashcards and have a study session for extra credit points on the quiz.  Also, students should have completed workbook pp 45-46.

Semana: 16-20 de febrero

We are finishing up our Chapter 5 with a final project.  It is due this week and is worth 50 points (it takes the place of the chapter test).  Also, workbook pages 37-44 are due this week.  Both assignments count as BIG grades!  Make sure these are completed and turned in! 

Semana: 9-13 de febrero

¡Feliz dia de los enamorados!  This week we are finishing up with "Tercer Paso" vocabulary.  Quiz on Thursday/Friday.  Workbook pages should be completed thru p44.

Semana: 19-23 de enero (January)

Thank you for checking my BLOG!  I am sorry for not having posted anything since before the holiday.  The school was experiencing technical difficulties with this website. 

This week we finished up Capítulo 4 with a TEST on Thursday/Friday.  I also checked workbook pages for this chapter (27-36).  If your child did not complete these pages, a letter was sent home to be signed.

Semana: 1-5 de diciembre

We are beginning Chapter 4 this week.  A focus of this chapter is learning to conjugate verbs.  We will have a quiz this Thursday/Friday on the new material and the verb conjugations.  Students have a new verb chart which should help them on their quiz this week.  Also remember - extra credit is available for the quiz.

Semana: 17 - 21 de noviembre

We have now finished Chapter 3 and normally there would be a chapter test that follows.  Instead, we are working on a project entitled "Un día en la vida de _____"  (A day in the life of_____) and creating booklets to explain our daily schedules.  That will take the place of the test this week and is due Thursday/Friday.  Also, I will be checking workbook pages thru 26 on Thursday/Friday for a grade.  Don't forget...progress reports are coming home on Wednesday!

Semana: 10-14 de noviembre

We are finishing up the last section of our Capitulo 3 vocabulario.  There will be a quiz on Thursday/Friday and we are now up to workbook page 26. 

Also, this week starts new opportunities for extra credit.  Students can make flashcards or have a 20 minute study session to earn extra points on the weekly quizzes.  This was discussed in class on Monday and Tuesday.

Semana: 3-7 de noviembre

I hope that you all enjoyed DIA DE LOS MUERTOS. 

We will continue to work on "time" in Spanish this week.  There will be a quiz this Thursday/Friday.  Also, make sure you are up to date with workbook pages thru 22. 

Semana: 27-31 de octubre

We are working on Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) activities.  Students will have a quiz on the information we learned about the Day of the Dead on Thursday/Friday.  Students are also encouraged to bring a picture or memento of someone they loved to place on the altar at our celebration.

We also began the "Segundo Paso" on our vocabulary.  There will be quiz on this material next week.
