Still working on narratives.  Literature circle tasks due Friday.

Students are reading and analyzing the story Three Century Woman for characterization and point of view. Today they created a facebook page for the main character in the story and completed a character wheel.  Rat projects are due tomorrow and Thursday.

November 11, 2011

Today in class students reviewed the plot diagram for Three Skeleton Key and took a comprehension quiz.  After the quiz they worked on Three Skeleton Key plot illustrations. Rat projects are due November 16th so students should be working on these for homework.

Students are working on "Growing Up" final narratives and literature circle tasks for their coming of age novels.The literature circle tasks are due on November 18.  Students will be typing in the lab again on Monday writing their narrative final drafts.

Today in class students continued work on the story "Three Skeleton Key"by working on sequencing the events in the story. Students were also given information for their "rat projects" that are due on Wednesday November 16th.  Students will be taking a comprehension quiz on 3 Skeleton Key on Friday November 11.  3 Skeleton Key Final Tests will be on Friday November 18th.

Students are writing narratives and will be typing final copies in class on Friday 11/11 and Monday 11/14.  Students may work on rough drafts at home.  Narratives must relate to the theme growing up.

Today in class students took a comprehension quiz on the Highwayman poem and worked on direct object practice. We will be beginning a new story tomorrow Three Skeleton Key.   

October 31/November 1,2011

Students have finished up phrases practice and are reading the story Ghost of the Lagoon and completing a plot diagram in preparation to write their own narrative. We will work on this more Thursday.  Students should continue reading their Coming of Age novels.
