Students are still working on the prehistory of Georgia. We completed a prehistory matrix and began to look at the Cherokees specifically. Students completed a poster pass and a two -column notes formative assessment to demonstrate prehistory vocabulary knowledge. Currently, students are working on timelines in the computer lab to trace the evolution of Native American tribes in Georgia. Students were given the choice to create their timeline on timeliner, powerpoint, or Microsoft Word and we will be working on the timelines through early next week. Students will be testing on the prehistory of Georgia prior to the September break.
Students have completed their mystery box presentations and we are nearing the end of our novel "The Giver." We have been working on similarities and differences by using a Venn Diagram and are still working with plot line in relation the novel. Students should be close to finishing their story trails project as we are getting close to the resolution of the book. The story trails will be due the day we finish reading the books which should be by next Friday. Students are beginning a final project on The Giver in the computer lab today. They will be constructing a "picture book of memories" to demonstrate reading comprehension. We will be working on the picture books through early next week.
