Language Arts Newcomb

I am relieved that my blog is finally up and running.   Journal writing and the formal written composition will be an emphasis for our 8^th graders.   We have already completed about five pages of journals, so it is essential that your child have a journal which they should write in a composition notebook. At this point, I promised not to critique them on any conventions of their writing just their ideas on paper.  Sentence structure and the many elements of the conventions of writing will come soon.

Students are going to the media center for orientation this week and will have the opportunity to check out books. Don't forget that you are expected to bring a book to read every day.
