Week of August 29

All students are welcome to retake the probability quiz in homeroom beginning Tuesday morning.

  Remember to log on to USA Test Prep and review probability playing games and completing practice quizzes.

Assignments

Monday:  All Problems on Page 4 of the probability handout. The Unit 1 Test will be Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 7 & 8.

Tuesday:  Complete any problems on the Choices, Choices, Choices handout that were not finished in class.

Wednesday/Thursday:  No homework

Friday:  We will be coverying set theory in the Worktext that was issued this week.  Students should complete problems 1-6, 16-19 on p. 468, 1-3 on p. 472 and 1-7 on p. 476 if we do not finish them in class.  Tuesday there will be a brief quiz on sets and then we will review for the Unit 1 test which will be given on Wednesday and Thursday.

There will be a help session at 8:15 on Tuesday, Sept. 6 for the unit test.

Monday:  Complete handout on Compound Theoretical Probability.  There will be a quiz on Wednesday and Thursday which covers simple and compound probability.

Tuesday:  Study for probability quiz on Wednesday and Thursday.  Complete problems 9-24 on page 543 of the textbook.

Wednesday & Thursday:  Take Quiz.  Complete 7-21, all on textbook pages 561 & 562

Friday:  Menu Mania Performance Task completed in class

Hello everyone!

We are finally through all the first of the year processes that we must complete.  Students will be going to the lab tomorrow to make sure they can log in to USA Test Prep.  There are many resources there that students should take advantage of all year long.  Our first unit covers probability, as well as set theory and below is a review worksheet for students complete in order to review the probability that they learned in the 6th grade.  This is a worksheet from USA Test Prep.

Welcome Back!!!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome back to Daniell for our 2011-2012 school year.  I am excited about the new year and hope you are, too.  I will be posting assignments here on my blog for both Math 8 and Advanced Math 8 classes.  I will also post other important information as it becomes available.

Textbooks will not be issued until Thursday, August 18th.  However, for those of you who are eager to get a look at our book, you can reach the online textbook, as well as many  student and parent resources at:
