Week of April 27th

Congratulations to all students for completing the CRCT!

This week we begin our unit on Anne Frank and the Holocaust.

AC students will be reading Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl

  • Class sets of the novel will be used at school. Since we only have 30 copies, these books will not be allowed to leave the classroom. I encourage students who know they will be absent to purchase a copy of the book from a bookstore or to borrow a copy from the library. It will be very important for students to make up the reading missed during class when absent.
  • Quizzes will be given throughout the reading of the novel. Specific dates will be announced in class.
  • A test will be given over the novel the last week of school. Specific date TBA.

Language arts students will be reading "The Diary of Anne Frank", a drama based on Anne's famous diary.

  • This play can be found in the Prentice Hall Literature textbook beginning on page 698. All students have a copy of this textbook at home.
  • Quizzes will be given throughout the reading of the play--specific dates will be announced in class.
  • A test will be given over the entire play the last week of school--specific date TBA.

All students will complete a project on Anne Frank and the Holocaust.

  • LA students will receive a handout for their project in class on Wed. 4/29.

  • All projects are due on Thursday May 14th or Friday May 15th.
  • Late projects will NOT be accepted under any circumstances.
  • Classtime on May 6th, 7th, and 8th will be dedicated to working on projects.

  • Week of April 13th
