Week of 11-28

 

--Schedule change this week- Wednesday will be a skinny and Thursday and Friday will be the two block days.  We will run Wednesdays schedule 67-/7,3, 1,5 on Friday--

Monday- Students made a government cube.  They used pages 21-22 in their notebooks to help them fill in the information.  Their Government Test will be Tuesday December 6th with a Munch N Learn Tuesday morning December 6th at 8:30.  HW: Start Syudying.

Tuesday- Students manipulated a government chart with their group to review the information.  Next students filled the information out on a chart for their notebooks.  HW: Government Test will be Tuesday December 6th with a Munch N Learn Tuesday morning December 6th at 8:30. 

Wednesday- Students will read about two types of democracy- Presidential and Parliamentary.  They will highlight the important information.  Next they will fill in a Venn Diagram about the two types of democracy- comparing and contrasting.  HW:  Finish Venn Diagram.  Government Test will be Tuesday December 6th with a Munch N Learn Tuesday morning December 6th at 8:30.  

Thursday/Friday- We checked and went over the Venn Diagrams.  Students used the CRCT books to review governments of UK, Russia and Germany- they read and answered questions on the white boards.  Students were also given a chart for their notebooks to help them with this information.  Next we read in Rifka and continued our historical fiction reading.  HW: Study pages 21-22 in notebooks for the test.  If students know these two pages they are in good shape for Test Tuesday.  Munch N Learn Tuesday at 8:30am.

Week of 11/14

 

 

Monday- Played a review game to get ready for test tomorrow.  HW:  Study.  Europe History Unit Test will be Tuesday.  Munch N Learn will be Monday and Tuesday morning at 8:30am. 

Tuesday- Students took their Unit Test over History of Europe.  After test they read about leaders during WWII.  Students had to complete a leader’s worksheet and turn in.  HW:  www.usatestprep.com

Wednesday/Thursday- We continued reading our historical fiction novel- Letters from Rifka.  After reading students had to draw a picture of their favorite scene in the book so far and then on the back of their picture write a summary of that scene.  HW: www.usatestprep.com

Friday- Students read a book called Little Ships.  They also saw a video clip with actual footage from the Battle of Dunkirk.  Next students had to complete a graphic organizer about their reading.  HW:  We hope everyone has a very happy Thanksgiving with their families and friends:)

 

Week of 11/7

 

Monday- Students read in the orange books- Rebuilding and New Challenges pages 168-175.  After reading the students answered the questions on page 175 #1-7.  HW:  Review Notebooks.  Europe History Unit Test will be Tuesday 11-15.  Munch N Learn will be Monday 11-14 and Tuesday 11-15 mornings at 8:30am.

Tuesday- No school for students.  Teacher Inservice Day.

Wednesday/Thursday- We reviewed and discussed work from Monday.  Then students completed worksheets on Berlin Wall and Cold War.  Students read in Rifka and answered questions in their notebooks.  HW: Review Notebooks.  Europe History Unit Test will be Tuesday 11-15.  Munch N Learn will be Monday 11-14 and Tuesday 11-15 mornings at 8:30am.

Friday- Students were given a study guide to help them get ready for their Unit Test next week.  Students had time to work on their study guides in class and we went over before they left.  HW: Review Notebooks.  Europe History Unit Test will be Tuesday 11-15.  Munch N Learn will be Monday 11-14 and Tuesday 11-15 mornings at 8:30am.
