Power point Rocks: Download Chapter 4 Rocks

 1st, 3rd, and 5th pd classes  test over chapter 4 Wednesday, Oct 5th.

2nd and 4th pd classes, test over chapter 4 Thursday, Oct 6th.

5 bonus points added to test if you define the 3 words associated with rocks - porphorytic, aphanitic, phaneritic. Write the definitions on paper and turn in to me the day of the test.

Rocks!!

The students have finished with chapter 2, Minerals, and we are starting to study chapter 4, Rocks.

The students can start reading ahead to get familiar with the chapter.

Homework:  Current events are due tomorrow. There should be 3 articles with summaries in your composition book. You can use a weather map and information about the weather as a current event.

 

What is a mineral? Chapter 3

The students have been reading and studying about the properties of minerals. Tomorrow we will complete our lab on identifying minerals by the properties we have studied.

All AC classes will have a test next Thursday, Sept 15. over chapter 3.

Homework for Thursday Sept 1

Remember for tomorrow to bring your composition books with your news article and summary. The current event will be due every Friday.  I'm looking forward to hearing some of articles.

Textbooks will be distributed to all students that requested one by tomorrow. The textbooks are meant to go home and stay at home until I ask the students to bring them back. If you decide to use the online textbook and a textbook was issued, you can return the textbook at any time.
