Westward Expansion and Growth and Prosperity

Welcome back. It was so good to see you all back and well-rested.

Today in class, we began the new unit on Westward Expansion and growth and prosperity in the United States and in Georgia. We looked at a painting about Manifest Destiny and completed a crossword puzzle on the growth of the U.S., both of which I took up for a grade. Next, we created a concept map on the new standards, SS8H5. We are moving much faster on this unit than we have in the past so be sure to complete all assignments and study.

Have a great night.

Vocabulary and Geography

Today in class we took the mid-year Georgia History vocabulary test. I am looking for students to increase their vocabulary knowledge. Although this test does not count for a grade, the final vocabulary test will count and that should be sometime in early May.

I am diligently working hard to get all of your American Revolution choice points assignments graded and entered into I-Que.  Some of you did a great job and it has really improved your overall grade. However, some of you chose not to complete the assignments and your grade reflects that.

Thursday and Friday we will be watching The Crossing about General George Washington crossing the Delaware River in December 1776.

Have a good night!
