The Civil Rights Movement

SS8H11 The student will evaluate the role of Georgia in the modern civil rights movement.

This week we will learning about the Civil Rights Movement. We will doing a "jigsaw" activity where, just like a jigsaw puzzle, you will be in groups to learn part of the lesson and then you will teach the other groups. At the end of the lesson (about 3 days) you will have a complete puzzle, or picture, of the Civil Rights Movement. Look for your groups on Monday. Remember you may not want to work with others but learning to work in a team is a life skill you must have!

Don't forget that your homework is due on Thursday and there will be a homework quiz as well. Most of you have a done a great job on these but some of you have not and, therefore, your grades are downright scary right now. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. IF YOU HAVE LOST THE HOMEWORK SHEET,  DOWNLOAD ANOTHER ONE FROM A FEW POSTS DOWN!!!!

This is the last week before Spring Break and then the CRCT starts on April 12th

Monday and Tuesday- Reconstruction:  SS8H6  Analyze the impact of Reconstruction on Georgia, emphasizing the Freedmen's Bureau, Sharecropping and Tenant Farming, Reconstruction Plans, 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments, Henry McNeal and black legislators, and the  Ku Klux Klan.
