Forward Strides Counseling, LLC is pleased to offer “TEEN SENSE”, a small group Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) program to Middle and High School students starting September 12 throughout the school year. “TEEN SENSE”, developed by Horse Sense of the Carolinas focuses on teens struggling with behavior, self- esteem, social skills and making good choices. It is an interactive exciting therapy beneficial to those who may not find typical in-office counseling a good fit.
The group will meet at Dream Power Equestrian Therapeutic Center in Canton which is a premier facility with an indoor all weather arena. Groups will be facilitated by Gloria Griffin, Ed.S. LPC , retired Cobb County School Psychologist and Kathy Darnell, a certified PATH instructor and equine specialist who is also completing her practicum work in counseling for her LPC. Groups will begin meeting on Mondays (4:30-6:00p.m.) and Wednesdays (6:00- 7:30 p.m.) after school. Our fee for an 8 week group is $280. However, we are able to offer a 20% discount to Cobb County students as Forward Strides Counseling, LLC is a participant in the Cobb County Prevention/Intervention Coalition.
