Your first homework assignment is the Getting to Know You page. Since the last question requires a parent or guardian to fill in, this is not due until Friday, August 19th. If your parent has read over the page, seen my note but does not want to write anything, that is okay. They will still need to sign the bottom of the page. But, most parents will take the opportunity to brag on their child. So I hope to hear from every parent!
Our first day together you started the Shapes Summary for Science for a classwork grade. You know what that means don't you? All students have the opportunity to have a 100% in Arrington's class the first day of school. You will also have an assignment called "Science Is . . . " that we will begin this week. You'll get instructions for Science Is this week.
The 7th grade Science teachers believe that middle school students learn best through inquiry and hands on experimentation, so our first lab will be this Friday 8/12.
Several Parking Lot questions were posted in class yesterday inspired by 1st period's agenda discussion on how harmful underage drug and alcohol use it. Those ? are: When you learn something new, do you really get a new wrinkle in your brain tissue? Does can whipped cream have harmful affects if you squirt right into your mouth? Do expo markers really cause brain damage? And, what is happening inside your brain when you have a headache? If you want to turn in your research for this (completely optional) site 3 sources and them summarize what you learned in 1-3 sentneces in your own words.
